20 Apr 2012, I also can’t imagine that Angie would ever make a movie that would be htruful to some people. And I certainly can’t see her doing a film where a woman is raped and goes on to have a relationship with her rapist (which is what that women’s group is claiming.).She’s much too caring of a person to do that, and she has seen plenty of women that have been abused in that and other ways while doing her humanatarian work.She also said in the Paris interview that she never set out to cause contreversy by directing this movie. Obviously she’s not stupid, and I’m sure she realized that this film was going to be a very sensitivie issue for some people since it’s about a very sensitive subject.But I think what she meant is that she didn’t expect all the criticism that women’s group has thrown at her!After seeing with her own eyes the effects things like that have, I just don’t see her doing a movie that would hurt women that have been through that!I also sincerely hope that the UNHCR does not strip her of her goodwill ambassoder title. Part of me is also hoping that they come out with a statement in defense of Angie and her humanatarian work (the other part of me hopes they don’t, since that might just add more fuel to the fire and prolong all of this conflict and contreversy).And really, I don’t get why those women still believe the lies they were told about Angie’s movie. I understand that these women have been through a lot and have been hurt badly, and I feel horrible about that.But it still irks me that they can’t or don’t want to understand that what they were told about the film was a lie!
